Clarification - Lamella Clarifiers

Parallel plate and lamella clarification, sedimentation, and other separation processes are widely used to remove contaminants from liquids. Some systems settle solids out of the liquid stream by gravity; others use flotation methods to float the solids to the top of the basin.

Lamella Clarifiers and Parallel Plate Separators provide a large settling area for suspended solids in considerably less space than do conventional gravity circular clarifiers. Systems range in capacity from 15 gpm to several mgd, using multiple units. Hydraulic loading rates used in design of the parallel plate separator are similar to those used for conventional clarification. Performance is equal to or better than conventional clarification and provides distinct parallel plate advantages. Units utilize minimal floor space, provide for low maintenance, installation and capital costs.

Our clarifying technologies can be used in applications which include primary settling for heavy solids, secondary settling for suspended and biological solids, flocculating clarifiers for chemical additions, solids contact clarifiers for sludge recirculation and softening, and thickeners for solids concentration, as well as a selection of other specialized clarifying arrangements.

To meet your liquids/ solids separation needs, we supply a full range of separator devices, such as skimmers, decanters, and other ancillary equipment.

Case Study : Racine Uses Zimpro® Inclined Plate Separators To Clarify Drinking Water

The Racine, Wis., Water Utility draws its raw water from Lake Michigan, and needed to increase the capacity of its clarification facilities in order to improve turbidity control, especially during the spring runoff from melting snow and ice.
