WARRENDALE, Pa., November 2, 2005 -- Siemens Water Technologies introduces its new VersaDose controller at WEFTEC 2005 in Washington, DC. Designed to be used for liquid phase odor control dosing, the VersaDose includes a Siemens programmable logic controller (PLC), color touch screen and a program that incorporates the company’s extensive liquid phase odor control dose-to-demand experience.
The VersaDose is able to dose odor control product on a curve—or variable rate--rather than operating at fixed feed. This is important because in order to be effective, the feed rate of the odor control product must be varied to match the levels of odor-causing hydrogen-sulfide being generated. Only then can odors be most effectively removed and corrosion properly controlled within a wastewater collection system.
The controller, developed by the Davis Process line of the Siemens company USFilter, incorporates field knowledge collected over our many years of experience with liquid phase odor control into the logic system. This gives the customer a control system that is familiar with literally hundreds of possible operating conditions. VersDose is applicable to both municipal and industrial collection systems, and is designed for both odor and corrosion control. In addition to the control apparatus, the system includes pumps and chemical feed tanks—or can be adapted to existing customer chemical feed systems.
