Optimize Your Existing Industrial Application Water Treatment System

Over time and continual usage, your existing water treatment systems may not be operating at optimum efficiency. This condition may also be adding an additional burden for your operating personnel.

If your water treatment system is applied in an industrial application and it is not operating at peak performance, Siemens has a group that offers the System Optimization Program whereby engineering consulting, process troubleshooting, equipment evaluation and optimization services are available to enhance overall performance.

Formed during 2002, the EP&S group is dedicated to offering the most comprehensive upgrade and retrofit services available within the water treatment industry.  The group is also responsible for all custom engineered and proprietary parts, such as distribution systems, tanks and vessels, strainers, Permutit multiport and other types of valves, sampling devices and other components.

Some people might call this an audit or evaluation program, but our System Optimization Program is so much more.  Through the program, we can optimize your entire water treatment system or just designated units – it is your choice.  We offer the latest technologies that can also be incorporated into your existing system to ensure the quality and quantity of water needed.  No other company has the staff, expertise, technologies and equipment to ensure your system is operating at optimum performance, as we can.

Features and Benefits

Through the System Optimization Program, an EP&S Technical Services Engineer will:

  • Travel to your site
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of your water treatment system and ancillary equipment
  • Model your water treatment system using our proprietary software and provide you with a report detailing projected operating data, throughputs and chemical consumption.  This software can be used to develop 'what-if' scenarios and will allow optimization of all operating parameters.
  • Meet with your operating personnel to determine current maintenance procedures and operating conditions
  • Review operating data and sequences, drawings and operating and maintenance manuals
  • Provide a detailed engineering report, including observations and recommendations

As part of the program, suggestions will be made regarding additional equipment that can lower your costs and improve the quantity and quality of water produced.  An Optional Process Optimization Modeling Report is also available.  Within the report, a multitude of system variables will be analyzed and then the most effective operating parameters will be modeled.  Some of the variables that will be analyzed:

  • Influent conditions, including ionic load, water temperature and organic contaminant levels
  • Flow rates and bed depths
  • Regenerant dosages and the steps to ensure the most effective use of the regenerants, while the least volumes are consumed
  • The types and sizes of pretreatment and primary systems already in place and how all can be optimized
