Industrial Wastewater Systems - History

Headquartered in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, Siemens Water Technologies has merged the experience and capabilities of three highly successful and respected companies to provide a wide range of wastewater solutions to nearly all industrial markets. Today, Siemens Water Technologies offers two business segments to better serve our customers industrial wastewater needs.

Our Siemens industrial wastewater offerings are the result of a merger of three well-known industrial wastewater treatment companies into a single organization under our former name USFilter.  These legacy companies previously known as Memtek, Lancy Systems, and WTS were combined in July 1999.

In order to better serve our customers Siemens now offers two business segments from this grouping. Siemens provides the following business segments:

  • Wastewater Products for those customers looking for standard products and/or turnkey operations for smaller applications typically under 500 gpm.
  •  Integrated Solutions for customers in need of complete systems that integrate multiple Siemens Water Technologies' products and technologies.

Our sales staff alone brings over three hundred years of industrial wastewater experience.  Combined with our project support staff of experienced engineers, designers, and field service personnel, Siemens has the capabilities to design, supply, install, and start-up systems to solve most any industrial wastewater problems.

Siemens capabilities range from basic, conventional treatment systems with discharge to local sewers to zero liquid discharge systems where all of the water is recovered and purified for reuse.  Products and technologies used in our solutions include precipitation, ion exchange, microfiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, electrowinning, electrodialysis, diffusion dialysis, and biological systems.

In addition to our products, Siemens, has a fully equipped 10,000 square feet treatability laboratory located in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, which has played a strong role in the development of new treatment processes as well as the verification of existing technologies on new waste streams.  Tests can be conducted on almost any scale from simple jar tests to simulation of a full-scale system.

In addition to our extensive bench scale testing capabilities, Siemens also maintains a wide variety of pilot equipment. This equipment includes pretreatment processes such as rotating biological contactors, biotowers, ion exchange systems, packaged precipitation equipment as well as a full array of membrane products.  These membrane processes include ceramic and polymeric microfilters, ceramic and polymeric ultrafilters, nanofilters and reverse osmosis equipment.
