In the THIOPAQ® Scrubber process, gas is treated in a wet scrubber in order to absorb hydrogen sulfide (H2S). The H2S laden scrubber liquid is fed to a bioreactor where the sulfide is converted into elemental sulfur by a biological process, regenerating the scrubber liquid in the process, and enabling the bioreactor effluent to be recycled to the scrubber.
