Wastewater Treatment - Pipeline & Decommissioning
Because periodic hydro testing, cleaning and/or pigging of pipeline activities are required to evaluate their integrity, large amounts of waste fluids and water are often generated.

Our Monosep™ Pipeline or P&A waste fluid treatment system employs technologies that allow customers the option to treat these fluids on-site thus eliminating off-site disposal and future liability. Our on-site treatment option results in substantial savings over conventional methodologies, such as off-site disposal and future liability.

Our system has the ability to meet stringent NPDES discharge criteria for such contaminates as COD, BOD, TOC, TSS, O&G, pH and many more contaminates. In addition, we have developed a method to chemically neutralize biocides and inhibitors that may be part of a fluid treatment program on newly constructed pipelines. Our high flow rate chemical injection manifold system can neutralize and treat up to 35 barrels per minute (through a single pass approach) ensuring toxicity parameters are met prior to discharge.

Applications

  • Pipeline and Platform Plug and Abandonment Projects
  • Pipeline Pigging Projects
  • Pipeline Hydro Test Projects
  • Pipeline Conversion Projects
  • Pipeline Biocide/Inhibitor Projects

 Pipeline Process & Typical Results

Our Monosep system has the ability to meet stringent NPDES discharge criteria for such contaminates as COD, BOD, TOC, TSS, O&G, pH and many more contaminates.

Treatment Process

Hydro test or other wastewater generated from pigging, cleaning or platform P&A activities are routed to our 120-barrel flotation vessel to begin the treatment process.

The treatment process consist of:

  1. Processing the fluids through a 120-barrel flotation tank. This vessel has four compartments each equipped with flotation for removal of oil and grease contamination, weirs for removal and collection of contaminates and a vapor vent system. The flotation tank can be equipped with a gas buster in the event gas blow-by is expected.
  2. Fluids exiting the flotation vessel are transferred with high volume centrifugal pumps and are routed to a downstream radial flow designed vessel containing solids, filtration cartridges and oil adsorption media. Typically, this step in the process will remove up to 95 percent of the total suspended solids and oil and grease.
  3. The final step in the process includes final polishing of the fluids using granular activated carbon. Once the fluids exit the final step of the process, samples are collected and analyzed on-site to ensure compliance before being discharged.

Equipment can be installed on support vessels, lift boats or platforms in very compact areas.
