Calcium and magnesium alkalinity or bicarbonate alkalinity can also be reduced.  Units provide high rate clarification in minimal space and can also be used for cold lime softening.  Available in vertical and horizontal styles and adaptable to variable flow rates, systems offer excellent chemical efficiency and produce low turbidity effluent.  Our optional Permutit chevron shaped, high rate tube settlers will increase flow rates by over 35%.

• Low turbidity effluent which is virtually always superior to the effluent from conventional clarifiers/softeners
• More efficient chemical utilization because of the action of the suspended sludge in the mixing zone and upflow through the sludge blanket
• Complete mixing of the water, chemicals and sludge by the large, slow moving agitator blades
• Longer filter runs and lower treatment costs as the low turbidity effluent from the precipitator places little load on downstream filters
