Challenge
The Rancho California Water District (RCWD) serves Temecula, Murrieta, and surrounding areas of Southern California. The district is blessed with a large, natural underground water source. Temecula Valley Aquifer supplies water from 52 wells.
The area’s population has grown to 99,000 as a result of residential development of former cattle ranches. Previously remote wells are now surrounded by densely populated communities.
Anticipating additional growth, RCWD approached RJ Environmental products looking for a way to chlorinate their wells and pump stations. They required systems that are
Solution
RCWD purchased three RJ-150-PP chlorination-chlorine scrubber systems with the following attributes:
- Skid mounted
- Factory assembled
- Inexpensive to install
- Designed to contain and treat up to eight 150-lb. chlorine cylinders
- Minimum maintenance at remote, unmanned locations
Results
RCWD was very impressed with the first three systems purchased. They have incorporated the RJ-150-PP as a standard part of their water treatment.
Our systems fit their needs perfectly:
- Small
- Self-contained
- Easy to install
According to Don Peck, Water Quality Supervisor for RCWD, "We haven’t had any chlorine leaks or spills, but these systems are like insurance, you have to have it in the event of a catastrophe."
RCWD has purchased a total of 14 chlorination-chlorine scrubber systems.
