Siemens Water Technologies integrates chemical feed equipment to blend sodium hypochlorite and sodium bromide at proper ratios for successful biological growth management with pumps, process controllers, and data recorders.
Liquid sodium hypochlorite is commonly fed to plant water processes such as cooling towers in order to keep biological growth at minimal levels. Since make-up water quality and site operational requirements vary, cooling towers can be maintained within several ranges of pH as dictated by the treatment chemistry desired. However, sodium hypochlorite is most effective naturally within a narrow band of the pH scale, so at elevated pH ranges sodium bromide is often utilized to further activate the sodium hypochlorite for improved performance than otherwise could be achieved.
