In 1961, a small company named Zimpro was formed around a new wastewater treatment technology. As the company began to design and manufacture treatment systems, it needed laboratory proof that it would perform as advertised. Chemists were hired and instrumentation was purchased to handle the task.

Local municipalities and industries took note of Zimpro’s lab expertise, and began using its capabilities for their own analytical needs. In 1987, the State of Wisconsin launched a certification program. Zimpro decided to separate its laboratory division and named it "Enviroscan Services". From 1987 through 1996, Enviroscan Services continued to increase its analytical capabilities and build its reputation as one of the finest labs in the Midwest.

In 1996, Zimpro and Enviroscan Services were sold to USFilter, a global water company. USFilter brought a strong commitment from a large company (eventually Fortune 300) to provide analytical services to USFilter divisions and to continue to expand our services to outside customers.

In August, 2004, Siemens, an international company, purchased USFilter. Enviroscan Services continues its original mission of supporting Zimpro, and we have expanded our support to USFilter and Siemens. USFilter has been positioned as the cornerstone for the Siemens Water Technologies global business. In 2006, the USFilter name changed to Siemens Water Technologies. 

While our name has changed, our technologies, services and people remain the same. We are able to provide outside customers with exceptional service and accurate data, with the resources and reputation of a global environmental company. The strength of our company is its ability to combine water and waste handling divisions to provide customers with cost effective solutions for their environmental challenges.
