Microfloc Products

Microfloc was founded in 1961 by three engineers who had developed an innovative method for electronic control of coagulation chemical addition.  Microfloc continued to innovate in the ensuing years, developing the mixed media filter bed (1963), the first commercially viable tube settler (1964), and the upflow Adsorption Clarifier System (1981).  Microfloc continues in the tradition of innovation with the Trident HS system, which is the latest development in package treatment systems.

The following company timeline tracks the history and trademarks associated with the Microfloc family of products.

  • 1961 - Microfloc Corporation founded
  • 1965 - Microfloc purchased by the Neptune Meter Company of New York, and becomes a wholly owned subsidiary called "Neptune Microfloc".
  • 1978 - Neptune International Corp. is absorbed into Wheelabrator-Frye, Inc.
  • 1983 - Wheelabrator-Frye merges with Signal Corporation
  • 1988 - Microfloc merged with CPC Engineering to become 'CPC Microfloc'
  • 1966 - US Filter purchases Wheelabrator
  • 1999 - Vivendi purchases US Filter
  • 2004 - US Filter is purchased by Siemens Corporation
