Siemens Water Technologies Provides Outsourced Operations for UPW System in Northwest Fab

Challenge

Operational issues led this semiconductor fab to look at outsourcing for an alternative to increased system reliability and the need to increase capacity within the existing system.

Solution

By outsourcing the fab’s equipment with Siemens, we made recommendations for system upgrades and expansions by working directly with the customer utilizing expertise and design tools at hand. Along with these recommendations, a FMEA was performed to apply close scrutiny of the system design and operation resulting in modifications to improve system reliability. When media change out is required, the selection of media is reviewed and the recommendations are made to maintain the advancing state-of-the-art technology.  The latest media change replacement led to the use of the new USF™-brand NR30 MEG PPQ resin resulting in the quickest rinse up to quality experienced at this site.

Results

The partnership forged with this customer resulted in a system with greater reliability and capacity. The knowledge and expertise gained from the managing the customer’s equipment and process leads to continued support of the customer in the event any operational issues should occur or interest in making further system or process changes.
