Synthetech, Inc., Uses PACT® System to Treat Complex Pharmaceutical Wastewater
Newly mandated pharmaceutical pretreatment standards imposed by the USEPA and adopted by the city of Albany, Ore., and properties of a complex pharmaceutical wastewater led Synthetech, Inc., to install a wastewater treatment system from Siemens Water Technologies.  More

Thailand Brewery Installs Wastewater Treatment Plant, Generating Biogas and Reducing Sludge Volume
Khon Kaen Brewery wanted to ensure that discharge qualities were consistently met in the new wastewater treatment plant and that biogas was generated as an alternate source of fuel for use in a boiler system. They also wanted to reduce the volume of sludge generated.  More

Tipton, Indiana, Relies on Dependable Externalift™ Screw Pumps
The Tipton, Indiana, Wastewater Treatment Plant needed to pump return activated sludge, as well as wastewater to final filtration. They chose Externalift screw pumps from Siemens Water Technologies to meet their needs.  More

Ultra High Recovery Integrated Membrane System for Mine Drainage Water Treatment
As mining industry sites continuously expand into wilderness locations, developers are faced with the challenge of minimizing the impact on the local environment. Typically, large volumes of water are produced from drainage and run off at the facility containing various contaminants from heavy metals, selenium to chlorides.  More

Upgrade of the Municipal WWTP of Marines, Spain, Using AGAR® Technology
Sewage from the small town Marines, in the Valencia region, Spain, is treated in a centralized wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). Secondary effluent from the plant is discharged into a dry gully near the plant. According to current EU directives regarding the collection and treatment of urban wastewater, in some cases WWTPs are required to remove nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorous) as part of their biological wastewater treatment. The Marines plant was only designed for removal of organic carbon, and was not equipped with the components necessary for nutrients removal. In addition, the plant occasionally receives instantaneous peaks of organic load from the local food industry.  More

Valdivia Paper Mill Installs AGAR® MBBR for Secondary Treatment Process
The paper mill located in Valdivia, Chile produces cardboard from chemical and mechanical pulp. With the installation of an additional paper machine the wastewater flow increased from 4,000 m3/d to 8,500 m3/d and therefore, an extension of the existing wastewater treatment plant was required.  More

Vertical UV Module Helps Town Increase Treatment Capacity without Increasing Footprint
Vertical UV module helps town increase treatment capacity without increasing footprint.  More

Wastewater Ion Exchange Provides a Solution for Removal of Vanadium from Petcoke Leachate Waste
In January 2006, Siemens Water Technologies , formerly USFilter, was contacted by a California business that accumulates, stores and ships petroleum coke to its customers worldwide. The petcoke at this customer’s site was originally stored in uncovered concrete vaults.  More

Wastewater Ion Exchange Provides Flexible Solutions to Solar Industry
WWIX provides flexible solutions to the solar cell manufacturing process.  More

Wastewater Treatment Plant Supplied in Tight Time-Frame Helps Louisiana Refinery Treat Increased Flow, Maintain Discharge Levels
Siemens Water Technologies supplied oil/water separation, aeration and clarification equipment to the plant, and also was able to reuse some of the existing wastewater treatment equipment and tanks on site.  More
