Chloramine Removal for Indoor Water Parks
Chlorine is an effective disinfectant, killing algae, mold and bacteria that can cause illnesses. But, the chemical reaction between chlorine and naturally occurring organic matter in the water form new chemical compounds called disinfection by-products. These disinfection by-products, primarily chloramines, have their own set of potentially dangerous health effects. The presence of chloramines is immediately recognizable in the familiar “pool smell” as they build up in the water and become air borne. Utilizing ultraviolet light (UV) from Siemens is the technology of choice for aquatic facilities. Barrier® UV light systems have the unique ability to decompose chloramines to harmless compounds while also providing additional disinfection power without chemicals. Reducing Transportation and Chemical Costs
Handling of chlorine gas can be dangerous. Generation of sodium hypochlorite on-site from brine, using standard salt pellets, eliminates this potential safety hazard. The hypochlorite solution is used immediately so there is no bulk storage of chemicals. OSEC®-NXT systems provide many safety features when used as an alternative to chlorine gas systems.
