Wastewater Treatment – Oil Water Separation
Wastewater oil water separation is a process that many refineries or other oil processors undergo.  Siemens provides applications that can successfully separate oil from wastewater.

API separators are one way to remove gross quantities of oil and suspended solids from refinery wastewater prior to subsequent downstream wastewater treatment processes – normally a second oil/water separator polishing step and some form of advanced treatment for removal of dissolved organic compounds (typically biological treatment, though other treatment technologies have been used).

Siemens pioneered the development of the API separator through its Envirex products group years ago. Today we continue to provide oil-water separators and other technologies and services for removing oil from water and treating oil-laden wastewaters.

Case Study: Wastewater Treatment Plant Supplied in Tight Time-frame Helps Louisiana Refiner Treat Increased Flow, Maintain Discharge Levels

Calcasieu Refining, Lake Charles, La., needed to treat increased wastewater flow associated with major process expansions, while maintaining existing net load discharge levels.

In order to meet the timetable for the first process expansion, the equipment for the new plant needed to be designed and shipped to the job site within four-and-a-half months of the order award.
