    07/08/2009|Siemens to provide sustainable process water system for Dr. Pepper Snapple Group’s new Victorville, California bottling plant
    Siemens has been awarded a multi-million-dollar contract by The Benham Companies to provide a process water system for Dr. Pepper Snapple Group’s (NYSE: DPS) new bottling plant in Victorville, California. The treated water will be used to make purified bottled water and a variety of soft drinks. The 1,200-gpm (273-m3/hr) system will include media and carbon filtration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis and ultraviolet disinfection, and is designed to recover more than 90% of the water. Siemens will design, install and start up the system, which is scheduled for commissioning in early 2010.

    06/26/2009|Reliable instrumentation communication within complex plant structures: Measuring and control systems from Siemens Water Technologies become fieldbus-capable
    SFC, MFC and Depolox Pool measuring and control systems from Siemens Water Technologies can now be easily connected to plant level PLC systems via optional fieldbus modules. This reduces the overhead wiring considerably. Whereas data exchange from the instrumentation to plant level PLC systems has previously relied on available 4-20 mA outputs, the fieldbus modules expand this communication to a greater number of read and write functions.

    Effective February 1, 2008, Chuck Gordon will succeed Roger Radke as head of Siemens Water Technologies, Warrendale, Pennsylvania, a business unit of the Siemens Division Industry Solutions (IS). Radke is moving on to a new position in Siemens’ healthcare business.

    Siemens Water Technologies announced product enhancements to its Forty-X disc filter, formerly known as the Spider Disc Filter. The tertiary filter disc technology incorporates several new product improvements including a pressure-assisted seal, a trash-tolerant box design, and sliding tank covers.

    10/15/2007|Siemens cooperates with inge AG in membrane technology
    Siemens Water Technologies, a Division of the Siemens Industrial Solutions and Services Group (I&S), and inge AG in Greifenberg, Germany have entered into a cooperation agreement to supply and distribute ultrafilter membrane modules. Siemens will have exclusive rights to distribute the patented water treatment modules of inge AG in the Americas, in Australia, New Zealand and in the United Kingdom. With its existing product line and the dizzer modules of inge AG, Siemens will thus have the most comprehensive range of products for water treatment in the world.

    Siemens Water Technologies announces the opening of its new Global Water Research and Development Center at PUB´s The WaterHub building in Singapore. Dr. Ruediger Knauf has been named Director and will oversee the Siemens research and development activities in the region. This is the first step toward the company´s previously announced EUR 25 million investment in water technology research and product development in the Asia-Pacific region.

    03/08/2007|New Dry Polymer Feed System From Siemens Maximizes Polymer Activation
    The PolyBlend DP110 Dry Polymer Feed System is the new integrated sequential batch, continuous feed system from Siemens Water Technologies. It replaces the existing DP105 system and uses the same blending technology as its predecessor but at almost half the size. The DP110 system's smaller footprint makes it ideal for replacement and retrofit applications in water and wastewater treatment plants sized up to 38,000 metric tons/day (10 MGD) at a 1 mg/l dosage rate.

    By acquiring four companies in the U.S., Siemens Water Technologies has made a valuable addition to its service business and supplemented its product portfolio for disinfection and ultra-pure water solutions. "We are implementing our strategy of using specific acquisitions to supplement our range of technological products and improve the service we provide close to the customer", said Roger Radke, CEO of the Water Technologies Division, which is part of the Siemens Industrial Solutions and Services Group (I&S). In the U.S. Siemens has taken over four companies Envirotrol, CEC, Ultrapure Solutions and Sunlight Systems with total sales of 25 million USD.

    12/14/2006|Siemens invests EUR 25 million to expand its Singapore location to become the center for water and wastewater technologies in Asia
    With investments of EUR 25 million, technology transfers, and research and development projects, Siemens is expanding its Singapore location within the next five years into a competence center for water and wastewater technologies in the Asia-Pacific region. Roger Radke, Head of the Water Technologies Division in Siemens' Industrial Solutions and Services (I&S) Group, said to the press in Singapore, "The natural water resources in Asian countries are inadequate to ensure the further development of industry and communities. Water treatment and recycling technologies are essential prerequisites for continuing growth and prosperity in Asia." Siemens signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PUB, Singapore's national water agency for collaboration in R& D projects in water and used water treatment.

    12/14/2006|Siemens: New solutions for disinfecting drinking water and wastewater improve water quality and reduce risks to health
    The price and availability of water will have a similar influence on the Asian economies as oil and gas imports do today. "Through further development of our product lines and systems for disinfection we are making a contribution to meeting the rising demand for fresh water from industry and the population," explained Roger Radke, who is responsible for global water business at Siemens within the Industrial Solutions and Services Group (I&S). He said the increasing microorganism load in rivers was jeopardizing human health, and making it more difficult to make optimum use of water as a raw material. "It is only with additional water treatments and closed-circuit solutions that greater demand and higher expectations of water quality can be satisfied", continued Radke. "Siemens currently has the broadest range of products and process knowledge for every stage of water treatment and provides all-embracing solutions for industry and municipalities."
