Hexavalent Chrome Treatment for Rinsewater Recycling Reduces Feedwater Demand and Wastewater Discharge
In 2006, Siemens Water Technologies was contacted by a hexavalent chrome plating customer for assistance in reducing water demand at the facility. The customer manufactures chrome plated parts and was seeking a solution that would allow an increase in production without the need to expand existing pretreatment equipment used to condition city water and also avoid additional investment in the existing precipitation system.  More

Ion Exchange Treatment of Regulated Metals in Coal Ash Found to be Efficient in Power Industry
Coal ash is a waste product of coal combustion used for electrical power generation. Fly ash (from smoke stacks) and bottom ash (from boilers and combustion chambers) may contain trace metals including Aluminum, Arsenic, Cadmium, Chrome, Copper, Mercury, Nickel, Lead, Selenium, Vanadium and Zinc. This ash is removed from the boiler using a water slurry and stored in holding basins or ash piles within the power generation facility.  More
