Before wastewater could be discharged at the Parker Hannifin plant, it needed to be treated for the removal of chromium, copper, lead and zinc – and the plant wanted to recycle torch quench water as well as increase capacity of the existing microfiltration system by 50%. Using a state-of-the-art system by Siemens, the plant reduced heavy metals to below 0.1 mg/L, reduced treatment costs, and expanded the plant by 54%.

A Midwest steel mill had been using untreated well water that fouled the plant’s cooling and piping systems.  In addition, the water had an objectionable appearance, taste, and odor when used for drinking water. The mill turned to Siemens for a new two million gallon per day (MGD) well water treatment system. The removal of the iron and manganese greatly reducing maintenance and energy costs.
