ViaCC enables the recognition of smoke, fumes, leaking liquids and colors. 11/19/2009	\|	Modernization extends Wuhan Iron and Steel's range of products: Siemens supplies main drives and new process automation for cold rolling mill
		Siemens has received an order from Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Co. (Wisco), a Chinese steelmaker, to equip a coupled tandem pickling line in cold rolling mill no. 1 with energy-saving main drives. The Siroll CM process automation system will also be modernized. The order is worth several million euros. When the project is completed in September 2010, Wisco will also be able to produce high-strength steel grades in the plant. More

		The Siemens Division Industry Solutions took over EUtech Energie & Management (E&M) GmbH, headquartered in Aachen, Germany. With the acquisition, Siemens Industry Solutions strengthens its service business in energy and environmental management. EUtech has 20 employees and recently achieved worldwide sales of €1.6 million with consulting services in the energy and environmental area. More
11/17/2009	\|	Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. orders caster from Siemens for new integrated production facility in Angul, India
		Siemens VAI Metals Technologies received an order from Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (JSPL) for the supply of a new single-strand slab caster which will be built at Angul in the Indian state of Orissa. The machine, which will be equipped with a wide range of technological packages, will be one of the most advanced slab casters in India. Start-up is scheduled for September 2011. More
11/10/2009	\|	Siemens modernizes automation in Altos Hornos de Mexico's Monclova hot rolling mill
		Altos Hornos de Mexico, S.A.B. de C.V. (AHMSA) has awarded Siemens a contract to modernize their existing basic and process automation systems on their Monclova Hot Strip Mill. Siemens will supply and install modern automation technology based on the Siroll HM platform, which is specifically designed for hot rolling mills. The total value of the order is 21 million US dollars and the project is due to be completed in the summer of 2011. More
11/06/2009	\|	Biggest Cement Order from Vietnam: Siemens supplies equipment for new production line of the Cong Thanh Cement Plant
		The Siemens Industry Solutions Division has been awarded with an order from Cong Thanh Cement Joint Stock Company to supply the electrical and automation equipment for the new second production line at the Cong Thanh Cement Plant in the Thanh Hoa province, Vietnam. A kiln control system integrated into the PCS 7-based process control system will constantly optimize the consumption and the clinker production. With a future capacity of 12,000 tons clinker per day, this plant is the largest single cement production line currently being built in Asia. The new production line will be the largest single cement production line in Asia and once in full operation by 2011 it will turn the Cong Thanh Cement Plant into a major additional production facility for Vietnam cement industry. 		The Siemens Industry Solutions Division (IS) has won an order from DCC Doppelmayr Cable Car GmbH & Co to supply the electrical equipment for a cable liner shuttle of the metro in Caracas, Venezuela. The new rapid transit line will link two metro lines and is due to come into operation at the end of 2011. More
11/02/2009	\|	Zenith Steel expands rod mill capacity, product range with two new rod outlets
		Zenith Steel (Changzhou Zhongtian Iron & Steel) in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, People’s Republic of China, has signed multiple contracts for two rod outlets for the company’s new rod mills that will be located in Changzhou. The contracts are valued at more than €10 million. After the new equipment’s installation, the mills for this privately-owned, midsized steelmaker will produce up to 150 tons per hour on each line. 10/30/2009	\|	Siemens to equip Jeddah sewage treatment plant with one of largest odor control systems in Saudi Arabia
		Siemens Water Technologies will supply a nine-piece odor control system at the 250,000 m3/d North Jeddah Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As the STP is located next to the King Abdullah Aziz Airport in Jeddah, the Ministry of Water and Electricity requested that odor control equipment be installed. Valued at more than US$2 million, the system will consist of three different technologies located at five areas throughout the plant. Once completed by year’s end, this will be one of the largest odor control installations in all of Saudi Arabia. More
