Barrier®M Ultraviolet Drinking Water Disinfection Systems

This UV water treatment system is easy to install and designed for drinking water purification, municipal pools, and water parks.  Ultraviolet disinfection is an ideal alternative to chemical addition systems and can be used as a bolt in multi-barrier approach to your disinfection process.

Barrier® M UV system provides a cost-effective, operator-friendly solution for low-and-medium flow rate disinfection applications. The system consists of a stainless steel reaction chamber with medium-pressure polychromatic lamps, and a remotely mounted microcontroller for complete control and monitoring capabilities. The system is effective in controlling waterborne pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites, including, Cryptosporidium or Giardia, which can be resistant to conventional chemical disinfection. In addition, the system provides a powerful disinfection solution without forming harmful disinfection by-products(DBPs).

Features and Benefits

  • Independently certified systems according to the industry-leading DVGW W294 protocol provide guaranteed performance at specific flow rates and water qualities. Under this protocol, reactors are validated under the worst case scenario.
  • Compact in-line design enables easy and flexible installation.
  • Very low head loss for installations with limited line pressures.
  • Automatic ultraviolet lamp control and optional dose pacing reduce operator interface, minimize power consumption and prolong lamp life.
  • Automatic mechanical cleaning system maintains efficient, economical operation. The system is equipped with an optical rotation detection system, eliminating the wear and tear associated with limit switches.
  • Powerful, medium-pressure UV lamps with 9000 hour life means fewer lamps are required, reducing lamp replacement costs
  • Doped quartz sleeves with cut-off below 240 nm prevent the formation of nitrite ion.
  • Lamp output is independent of water temperature.
  • Continuous monitoring of fluence rate with calibrated DVGW certified sensors. sensors are calibrated under the most stringent conditions.
  • High quality 316 Ti stainless steel reaction chamber, which is more corrosion resistant than standard stainless steel.
