| Siemens Water Technologies has been awarded the sole license for the global manufacture and supply of the entire range of products, service and replacement parts for ITT Corporation’s Portacel product line. ITT will no longer manufacture and sell Portacel products and spares. The licensing agreement includes the supply of products as well as aftermarket support of monitoring and dosing equipment for disinfection of potable water, and in particular, of vacuum dosing of gaseous and liquid chlorine. The licensing agreement will allow Siemens to broaden its scope of chemical feed and disinfection support worldwide.

| Siemens VAI started up a new slab caster for the Brazilian flat-steel producer Companhia Siderúrgica Paulista (Cosipa) equipped with design features unique in South America. This caster, which is capable of producing approximately 1.2 million tons of high-quality slabs per year, is equipped with the LiquiRob robot system as well as with thickness-on-demand capability. Installation of the new slab caster took place simultaneously with ongoing operations of two adjacent slab casters. Plant start-up proceeded smoothly and all systems were fully operational right from the first heat.

| The Industry Solutions Division of Siemens Ltd. India, Mumbai, has received an order from the Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) to supply power distribution equipment for the Bokaro steelworks. Valued at 1,756 million Indian rupees (around 28 million euros), the turnkey high-voltage power distribution system is part of a comprehensive project to expand and modernize the plant. At the beginning of 2008, Siemens VAI had already been engaged by SAIL to supply the key components for a new cold rolling mill at exactly the same location.

| Siemens Water Technologies has established its mobile water treatment solutions in the Middle East with its first installation outside North America, where the company services thousands of municipal and industrial customers. Siemens will supply the system to Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia. The 50m3/hr system uses media filtration, followed by reverse osmosis, to treat and purify groundwater for use as drinking water. The mobile water treatment units began operation on June 15, 2008, and will be on site for about three years. Unlike other treatment systems, which require the investment of capital expense, manufacturing time, and installation, the containerized mobile water systems provide numerous advantages, such as rapid response for emergency or unplanned maintenance, minimal field construction costs and the flexibility to upgrade or change a treatment process if source water chemistry changes.

| Canadoil Plate Ltd from Thailand have become the first company to purchase the new Siemens VAI Smart Shear Technology, a new hydraulically operated cross-cut plate shear that provides improved cutting quality. The two Smart Shears that Canadoil have purchased will form part of the shearline included in the recent order awarded to Siemens VAI for a new 5 Meter Plate Mill facility. The mill will be designed mainly for the production of plates for high grade pipe, pressure vessels and structural steels for the energy industry. The whole project, including the mill, shearline and Smart Shear equipment is scheduled to start operation in 2010.

| The first seven-strand billet caster supplied by Siemens VAI was started up at the Ukrainian steel producer Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Integrated Works (DMKD). Also, within only five weeks four additional long-product casters were started up during the third quarter of 2008 in China, Germany, Italy and Saudi Arabia.

| Siemens Nederland N.V. has won a contract from Corus Strip Products IJmuiden to supply new drive technology for the existing hot strip mill no. 2. The drive systems are scheduled to be installed on the main drives of the seven-stand finishing line by spring 2012. The order is valued at several million euros. In 2006 and 2007, the automation for the hot strip mill no. 2 has already been modernized by Siemens in several stages.

| The Siemens Industry Solutions Division has received an order from the Moroccan company Ciments du Maroc, Casablanca, to supply electrical equipment for the new cement works at Ait Baha near Agadir, Morocco. The order, valued at around nine million euros, also includes installation services. Commissioning is scheduled for the end of August 2009.
