Wallace & Tiernan® Series A-758 Paste-Type lime slaker produces a high strength lime slurry from dry quicklime at a substantial savings. On-site slaking is the ideal solution to commercial hydrated lime which becomes prohibitive for installations requiring a continuous, high volume supply.
The A758 lime-slaking system uses a controlled paste-slaking technique. The system is completely automatic from quicklime input to lime-slurry discharge.
The heart of the slaking process is a torque-operated water valve which automatically maintains paste consistency of the lime being slaked. Typical application are as follows:
- Scale and corrosion control
- Coagulation
- Water softening in the water treatment market
- Acid neutralization
- Sludge conditioning
- Phosphate removal in the wastewater treatment market
- SO2 removal from flue gas in the air quality control market
