UltraCarb® 830 and 1240 Coal-Based Granular Activated Carbon

Siemens Water Technologies is the exclusive supplier of Westates™ brand activated carbons.  UltraCarb® 830 and 1240 activated carbon is designed to efficiently purify and/or decolorize many aqueous and organic liquids.

Coal-Based Granular Activated Carbon
UltraCarb® coal-baed granular activated carbon
UltraCarb® 830 (8 x 30 mesh) and 1240 (12 x 40 mesh) are high activity granular activated carbons manufactured for selected grades of bituminous coal.  They are activated under rigidly controlled conditions by high temperature steam activation.

UltraCarb® high-density carbons have large pore volume and high surface areas.  It's pore structure has been carefully designed for the adsoprtion of both high and low molecular weight impurities which are typically found in closed loop circulating streams.  The particle size has been selected to give optimum adsorption characteristics and low resistance to flow.

Typical uses for UltraCarb® carbons include in oil refining and processing industries.
