VertiCel® Wastewater Treatment System

The VertiCel® system is superior to other aeration technologies because it saves energy and space, while producing an unparalleled effluent quality. It is ideally suited for wastewater treatment plants with process flows above two million gallons per day.

VertiCel® Process

The VertiCel® tanks in series design consists of an aerated-anoxic tank followed by an aerobic tank.

The advantages of this design are:

  • prevents short-circuiting of ammonia through the system
  • reduces effluent levels to non-detectable
  • achieves higher kinetic reaction rate so basin volume can be reduced
  • can maintain different environments in each reactor for nitrogen phosphorus removal.
  • The deep tank design reduces the footprint, thereby reducing construction and maintenance costs.

Features and Benefits

  • Low power costs
  • Less risk of fines for effluent violations
  • Lower maintenance and operating costs
  • Reduced construction cost
  • No downtime required for tank equipment replacement or repair
  • Electric controls not required but available
  • Flexibility
