Hi-Gard™ Gravity Actuated Rotary Distributors (Hi-GARD)

Gravity Actuated Rotary Distributor for distribution of wastewater over trickling filter or biotower media. The unit provides a cost effective means of distribution with a low maintenance piece of equipment. Aluminum construction provides corrosion resistance which results in longevity without the need for repainting. Large non-clogging distribution orifices also reduce maintenance associated with spray type nozzles.

Hi-Gard
Hi-GARD™ distributors deliver:

  • Uniform distribution of wastewater over filter media
  • Cost effective treatment without electric input
  • Relatively constant speed over a wide flow range
  • Low maintenance
  • Corrosion resistant aluminum construction

    • Provides the ability to flush the media by increasing flow rate
    • Reduced maintenance.

Wastewater flows into the Hi-GARD™ unit through a central located inlet pipe and over a stationary weir into a rotating tub assembly.  The depth of water in the rotating tub will force the water out into the distribution arms.  Large non-clogging orifices on the top side of the arms distribute the wastewater proportionally along the length of the arm.  Wastewater flowing down the inclined side of the distributor arms provides the driving force for rotation.  Over 675 units have been supplied since 1955.  Installations range from 18 feet (5.5 m) to 200 feet (61.0 m) diameter, with flow ranges from 50 gpm (11 m3/hr) to 35,000 gpm (7950 m3/hr).
