Barrier® M UV Systems for Water Disinfection Applications

The Barrier® M range of UV systems is primarily designed for the treatment of potable water, wastewater, swimming pool and process water with flow rates ranging from 44 to 5000 US gpm (10 to 1150 m3/h).

UV Water Disinfection System - Barrier M
Barrier M Series
The Barrier M systems are equipped with special Wallace & Tiernan® medium-pressure lamps, type WTL.  The radiation spectrum of 200 to 300 nm attacks both the DNA and the cell wall, proteins and enzymes of waterborne pathogens.  The repair mechanisms of the microorganisms are therefore also destroyed.  The Barrier M reaction chamber is characterized by optimal hydraulics and low pressue loss, ensuring a high efficiency of the UV system.

Find the UV disinfection solution that's right for you.  Use the table below to find out what Barrier M product is best suited for your application needs.  Click here for aquatic applications.

Features and Benefits

  • Space savings and reduced installation cost with compact design and small footprint
  • Extremely low pressure loss
  • Easy installation and retrofit with in line design; reduced installation cost
  • Reduced maintenance cost and low head loss because of the few powerful medium-pressure lamps used
  • Low life-cycle cost with hydrodynamically optimized chamber design
  • Negligible photoreactivation mechanisms, and no impact of water temperature on efficiency because of medium-pressure lamp technology
  • Extended lamp life and reduced power consumption with lamp power control
