Gravisand® Filtration System for Wastewater Effluent Polishing

Gravisand® filtration technology incorporates the principles and advantages of conventional traveling bridge designs but uses improved methods of accomplishing and maintaining filtration and regeneration.

    Gravisand® Traveling Bridge Filter

Gravisand® filtration systems are a favorite among wastewater treatment plant operators because of their exceptionally low life-cycle costs and their legendary effectiveness in wastewater applications.  Gravisand® filtration systems are ideal for use with suspended growth systems, attached growth systems and for phosphorus removal, water reclamation and algae removal with the appropriate.  The unique features of the Gravisand® filtration system also eliminate issues that may occur with conventional filter systems.

    Issues that are eliminated include:

    • Off-line downtime for maintenance on underwater mechanisms
    • Off-line downtime for filter bed maintenance
    • Filter media loss through the underdrain
    • Migration of filter media to the ends of the tank
    • Underdrain failure
    • Bridge derailment
    • Excessive backwashing
