Features and Benefits

AVGF's are commonly used for process water, potable water, oxidized iron removal and cooling tower side stream applications. Standard filter sand or anthracite is generally used as the filter media. Some of the benefits include:

Requires little to no labor or maintenance; the AVGF operates by itself – it filters, backwashes, rinses and returns to service without the use of valves, timers or switches.
Requires no electricity and it is ideal for applications where electricity is not available or where electricity is expensive and is especially useful in developing nations
A unique design, including the discharge of filtered water above the filter bed, which results in consistent high-quality effluent water
Does not discharge water to drain, instead it is stored and used for the next backwash cycle to save water
