Metal Scavenging Ion Exchange System

The Metal Scavenging Ion Exchange System is designed to be used to remove or scavenge dissolved metals in wastewater.

The Metal Scavenging Ion Exchange System is designed to operate at peak efficiency by utilizing packed resin beds in conjunction with counter-current regenerations. Packed resin beds optimize performance by increasing the operating capacity of the resin. Since the resin kinetics are more efficient, smaller resin vessels can be utilized.

The metals in the regenerant waste can possibly be recovered in a resalable metallic form using an metal recovery cell (RETEC).

The ion exchange systems consist of several fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) pressure vessels that are filled with the appropriate amount and type of ion exchange resin. The systems are either skid-mounted or floor-mounted with the valve manifold being pre-piped.

A control system, based on a Siemens PLC which controls all the functions of the ion exchange system, including regeneration sequencing and return to operation.
