Zimpro® Systems Treatability Testing

Our approach to establishing the technical viability, and ultimately the design of a full-scale wet oxidation or hydrolysis system, is based on the extensive experience we have in treating certain wastes.

We can follow three basic steps:

  1. Initial Evaluation: Known waste characteristics are evaluated by our technical staff using our database and extensive oxidation experience. The applicability of wet oxidation or hydrolysis is determined along with a budgeting cost analysis.
  2. Bench-scale Study: The waste sample is subjected to bench-scale oxidation under various temperature conditions to determine the level of treatment that can be achieved.  The bench study is performed in order to verify expected performance, further define economics, and to provide initial operating parameters for use in a pilot study.
  3. Pilot Study: Continuous-flow, pilot testing is the final step in establishing the design of a full-scale system. Pilot study results confirm the performance of the wet oxidation process under a given set of operating parameters.
