Sludge Thickening System

The Sludge Thickening System is designed to utilize gravity in further concentrating the sludge from a clarifier or microfilter prior to being pumped to a filter press.

The sludge thickening system is designed to take low concentrated sludge (1-2% solids) and increase the sludge concentration to 4-5% solids by means of gravity settling. Sludges from a Memtek® microfilter system, a solids separator (clarifier) or a TotalTreat® Continuous Precipitation System (CPS) that do not incorporate an integrated sludge aging tank can be further thickened by using a sludge thickening system. The system is operated in a continuous mode. It includes a coned bottom FRP tank, FRP inlet baffle, effluent weir trough and a flanged sludge withdrawal nozzle.
