Carbon Media Services

Siemens Water Technologies is the single source for all your carbon media needs. In addition to our range of carbon media product options, we also provide carbon media support services to ensure that your system equipment continues to operate reliably and economically, while also meeting regulatory requirements.

Media Services
Siemens offers a wide variety of replacement carbon medias and adsorber systems for the removal of contaminants in both liquid phase and vapor phase applications.   We are the exclusive provider of Westates® activated carbons, which includes a complete line of coal-based granular and pelletized carbons, coconut shell and reactivated carbons processed to meet our stringent QA/QC standards and certified in our environmental and carbon testing laboratory.

As a complement to our media and equipment options, Siemens' offers a wide range of technical and field support services to help ensure that adsorber systems continue to operate efficiently, downtime is minimized and plant personnel can stay focused on your core business.  From analytical testing in our state-of-the-art laboratories to removal and reinstallation of new carbon media, to spent carbon reactivation at our RCRA-permitted processing facilities, Siemens Water Technologies has the right services for your system and operating budget. We do it all while giving you peace of mind that your liability is minimized and compliance ensured.

Our media services are offered either on an as-needed basis or as part of a comprehensive, preventative maintenance or service contract.  All of our services are performed by trained, Siemens employees who use company-owned transportation and specialty vehicles to perform the services. Our field service personnel have experience in maintaining and operating our own systems as well as equipment provided by other companies. Our technicians provide prompt, courteous service to help customers manage their water treatment system with minimum downtime and maximum use of direct labor and operating budgets.

Our trained service technicians are ready to serve customers from over 85 offices in North America.  Local service branches allow us to schedule service and repairs when you need them, not when the airfare is cheaper.  In fact, we are positioned to reach over 85% of the US population in less than a 2 hour drive.

Peace of mind comes from knowing you can reach Siemens 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our customer service department is available to assist with information on parts, place orders, locate a local Siemens service branch or contact a sales representative. If you have technical questions, we have industry experts ready to assist at our toll-free, technical support hotline.

    Carbon Media Services Case Study

Removal of Nitrates and TCP Make San Jerardo, CA Drinking Water Safe for Residents

In March 2006, members of the San Jerardo, CA community reported skin rashes from water use.  Upon testing the water, nitrates and trichloropropane (TCP) were both found to be at levels well above the regulatory limit.  High levels of nitrates are common in many wells, and it is believed that the surrounding agricultural area led to the TCP contamination.  Drinking water regulations require nitrate to be less than 45 ppm and TCP less than 5 ppt. At the time of testing, the nitrate level was at 78 ppm and TCP was at 80 ppt.
