Enhanced Nutrient Reduction

Because nutrient pollution causes and unbalanced ecosystem harmful to fish and other wildlife, new regulations in some regions have been implemented to reduce the levels of nitrogen and phosphorus levels discharged from wastewater treatment facilities.  Siemens Water Technologies is committed to protecting the natural resources and quality of life.

Through enhanced nutrient removal (ENR) technologies, total nitrogen can be reduced down to 3 mg/l or less and total phosphorous to 0.3 mg/l or less.  Siemens’ ENR solutions are designed to assure permit compliance and designed to make the path to compliance a simple and economical one.

Our solutions can mean simple addition of tertiary filtration to package systems to full-scale retrofit of existing biological treatment systems, depending on the needs of the treatment facility.
