Siemens at WEFTEC 2011

Siemens combines the industry's broadest wastewater and water portfolio with strong technical expertise and proven installation experience to help consulting engineers develop best treatment options for municipalities.  Siemens is further set apart by advanced engineering support for projects with multiple technologies, and the ability to offer integrated controls and performance based contracts.

At this year's WEFTEC Conference held in Los Angeles, California, October 16th - 20th, Siemens presented solutions for helping wastewater plants upgrade and extend plant and equipment lifetime, reduce operating costs, increase capacity and meet more stringent regulations.  Attendees were able discuss their specific wastewater treatment challenges with Siemens technology experts, product managers and senior executives who were on hand to share their expertise.

Featured Solutions

Description

Designing for Lowest Energy Costs

Siemens can integrate low energy biological processes, turbocompressors, VFD technology and controls to save energy as well as provide innovative biosolids reduction, composting and incineration technologies to minimize biosolids production and maximize methane gas output.

Biological Processes Featuring Aerated,-Anoxic and OMNIFLO® ISBR Technologies

As pioneers in aerated-anoxic technology and leaders in SBRs, our core biological process technologies are key for low energy cost options.

Integrated Controls that Maximize Energy Efficiency Featuring Link2Site™ Flex System

Learn about our capabilities to provide integrated controls that minimize energy use of this equipment. Our Link2Site™ Flex internet-based monitoring that allows you to connect to your system from anywhere will be on display.

Energy Efficient Solutions with Intelligent  Turbocompressors

Biological wastewater treatment requires large volumes of low pressure (5 to 20 psig) air. Careful selection of these Turbocompressors is important because they consume upwards of 60 percent of the power used in a wastewater treatment plant. The world's most efficient Turbocompressor will save upwards of 65 percent over costs compared with other units.

Energy Performance Contracting

Meet with our experts to discuss ESCO (performance-based contracts) that allow for an alternative self-funding method for a wastewater plant capital improvement project. Improvements can be paid for from the guaranteed process improvement savings.

BioFlowSheet+Solutions

BioFlowsheet+ Solutions is a process optimization program that fully integrates the main unit operations of a wastewater treatment plant into a single solution.  Our process experts work with a design team to analyze the efficiency of each process choice and its  interaction with the other components, while optimizing the overall efficiency of the entire system from start to finish.

Energy Efficient MBR  Solutions

See the MemPulse™  Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) System on display and learn more about the energy efficiency of the system that uses a mechanical device to supply irregular pulses of air to the MBR module. This increases scouring effectiveness, decreases operation and maintenance costs, and reduces energy consumption.

Anaerobic Digestion and Biosolids Minimization

Learn about the energy efficiency aspects of the Crown® Disintegration System and Dystor® Digester Gas Holder Systems.

Novel Approach to Composting

Learn about composting solutions for biosolids reduction and be introduced to our Composting System  process which can operate without the addition of wood wastes and requires less energy than thermal drying.

Upgrade Existing Plants

Planning clarifier replacements or rebuilds? Learn about our history on clarifiers and the benefits offered by the Tow-Bro® Unitube Sludge Removal System, the RimFlo® Circular Clarifier and our innovative loop chain.

Innovative Solutions for Biosolids Dewatering

On display will be the Sludge Belt Dryer and PolyBlend® M Series Polymer Feed System. Meet with our experts to discuss how this equipment can help you reduce cost within your municipal wastewater treatment plant.

Small Flow Solutions

Municipalities and contractors can learn how to reduce their overall capital expenditure by selecting a Siemens steel, field-erected biological treatment system over form-built, concrete basin treatment plants.  This option is an ideal choice to reduce engineering and construction costs and have a shorter concept-to-completion timeline.

Preventative Maintenance and Service Contracts

Extend equipment life and make operations more efficient, and reduce direct labor costs with our preventative maintence and service solutions.  Stop by our booth and speak with our experts to discuss a comprehensive review of your water treatment and controls as well as current operating procedures and data.

Meeting Regulatory Compliance and Reuse Challenges
Siemens has experience with over 50,000 installations worldwide to assist engineers and communties find the best solution to meet regulatory, capacity, and reuse challenges.  Learn more how our space-efficient equipment can reduce operator attention as well as how we can assist with your odor control requirments.
